We believe the seventh-day Sabbath remains a gift from YHVH and a meaningful part of faithful discipleship. We do not keep Shabbat to earn salvation, but because we desire to walk in the pattern Scripture gives.
The Sabbath first appears before Sinai, when God rests on the seventh day and sets it apart. We therefore see Shabbat not merely as an ancient Israelite custom, but as part of the biblical rhythm of creation itself.
Later, at Sinai, the command to remember the Sabbath calls Israel to cease from ordinary labour, honour YHVH and remember both creation and redemption.
Yeshua did not treat the Sabbath as something to abolish. He challenged distorted applications of it, while affirming that the Sabbath was made for humanity and that He is Lord of the Sabbath.
For us, following Yeshua means taking His words seriously and allowing Scripture to shape our weekly rhythm rather than assuming later religious traditions have replaced what God established.
We do not recognise Sunday as a replacement for the seventh-day Sabbath, but neither do we want Shabbat to become a test of superiority or a reason to condemn sincere believers.
Our desire is to search the Scriptures humbly, allow the Ruach HaKodesh to teach us, and encourage one another to walk faithfully in the light we have received.
